The Franciscan At-One-Ment Mission Project is a program of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. With Jesus and St. Francis as guides, we invite young men to serve in one of the Friars’ “At-One-Ment” ministries of healing and reconciliation.
The Franciscan At-One-Ment Mission Project summer volunteer program is for college aged men and will run June 15 - August 13, 2017.
There are 3 different opportunities to volunteer for the At-One-Ment Mission Project:
St. Christopher’s Inn (SCI)
Helping homeless and chemically dependent men regain their lives as productive members of society.
St. Christopher’s Inn is a temporary homeless shelter dedicated to healing men with chemical addiction. Volunteers support the men as they work elbow-to-elbow with them in running the vital functions of the Inn.
Graymoor Ecumenical & Interreligious Institute (GEII)
Fostering religious dialogue so that all Christian faiths and world religions may work together better to bring reconciliation to our divided, hurting world.
Graymoor Ecumenical & Interreligious Institute (geii.org) in Manhattan promotes Christian unity and interreligious dialogue. As part of the 8 week program, participants will go to Rome to participate in a Summer Course on interreligious dialogue from June 26-July 14, 2017. Upon returning volunteers will offer presentations at Catholic churches on what they learned.
Public Relations & Marketing
Telling the story of the Friars’ healing ministries through social media, marketing and fundraising.
Are you a good communicator and gifted in utilizing social media? Come and help us “tell the story” of the Friars’ ministries. Also, support the Friars’ mission through assisting with fundraising, which includes nurturing relationships with donors. This is a great opportunity to learn public relations, marketing, and non-profit fundraising skills.
